Weekends spent at home are far and few between during the summer months, and nobody’s complaining!

If you’re like us, you’ve got gals staying with you every weekend and having a place to sit and chat before you start your day is super important. We like to break out our vinyls, listen to some tunes ( both old and new ) while we plan out our trip to the beach or tubing adventures. There is something really special about removing a vinyl from the sleeve and placing it on a turn table, then pressing play. It’s so far from the technology we’re so accustom to using and I like that. I pretty much force our house guests play a vinyl while they’re here! And yes, you’re welcome over anytime to try out the turn table.

This little corner of our living room is a mix of new and vintage wares and truly is the perfect place to sip on coffee with gal pals. I think it’s important to source larger pieces that make you feel comfortable and ones you think you’ll hang on to for a while. For small things like this lamp, I tend to go budget friendly. Why? Because I know I’m going to want to change it up frequently! This lamp was once silver & black. A little spray paint and reupholstering and it’s looking brand new and on trend.

Seating: Instead of a traditional coffee table, opt for ottomans that can double as seats when you need them. If you don’t need the extra seats a simple lucite tray will still hold your coffee table essentials; books, candles and remotes.

Beverages: Other than your kitchen counters source pieces that can serve as beverage stations in rooms other than your kitchen. A nice bar cart, butler tray or console table will be a great place to set up cocktails.

Accommodations: Look for alternative sleeping solutions. It’s always a good idea to have a little extra sleeping room for unexpected weekend guests. Think day beds, sofa beds and futons ( aesthetically these are much better than in year’s past ).
