Wedding Cookie Recipe

Do you ever find yourself wanting christmas cookies ( but you’re lacking ingredients for just about all of your faves!?! ). Well let me introduce you to the ever so easy wedding cookie. I’m almost certain that you’ll always have the ingredients to make these butter, melt in your mouth treats! We borrowed this recipe from Paula Dean and tweaked it a tiny bit. Our gal Paula uses Pecans  ( no surprise ) but we went with a personal favorite the almond.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter ( we used 1 stick of salted and 1 of unsalted )

1/2 cup powdered sugar + a little extra for dusting

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1 cup almond slivers

Instructions:

1: In a mixing bowl with your mixing on low cream the butter and powdered sugar, adding the vanilla.

2: With your mixer still on low, add flour 1/4 cup at a time until mixture is combined.

3: Add almond sliver.

4: With flour dusted hands form small balls with 1 tablespoon of cookie dough.

5: Place balls on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 for 40 minutes, or until cookies are slightly golden.

6: Allow cookies to slightly cool, so they are just warm to the touch. Roll in powdered sugar.
